At Cape Canaveral, home to NASA and SpaceX, where rockets defy gravity, another speed record was in the making. Quest for 300 mph follows the high-stakes attempt to break the world record for the fastest street-legal car from a dead stop to the 1-mile marker. With Guinness World Records and Gas Monkey Garage documenting the feat, the team pushed the limits of engineering, endurance, and raw speed. On a runway built for space shuttles, the car roared to a blistering 283 mph, setting a new Guinness World Record.
